I have an Iron Maiden LE, and when I try to pull the playfield put, and push it back in, it's scraping the left side of the cabinet wall (under the art blades).

Not matter what I do, it's scraping and leaving marks everytime I need to pull the playfield put.

Is this a known problem, and is there a fix?

Thanks

Use side protectors. Every time.

I guess a bigger problem is that you have to keep pulling the playfield out on an LE.

I'm a lot less nervous working on pinballs since I bought these:

Pinball Life has a modestly cheaper set:

Depending on your cabinet, I find that if I'm REALLY careful, I won't leave a mark when I pull a playfield.

But some cabinets are 'skewed', a good indication of this is that the glass was/is nearly impossible to remove. If the cabinet is holding the playfield tight, you will find it nearly impossible to not leave a mark when you pull it up... unless you use the protectors referenced above.

Good product. Worth the money if you are concerned about damage, or if you do a lot of playfield lifting.

Head scratcher of the week

I have the protectors, but as noted in my original post, the scratches are happening under the decals, on the black walls of the cabinet.

Something at the back of the playfield appears to be rubbing against the left side wall.

It's making a very noticeable scraping sound.

You'll have to look for this. Screw head? Some bracket out of adjustment? Assembly of some kind not in perfect position from the factory?

Sides of the playfield out of alignment because the playfield is skewed?

Rails the playfield rests on have loose bolts?

Lots of things are the possible problem here, but you'll have to find it.

Very often with pinballs it takes hours of time locating the problem and 1 minute to fix it.

Good luck!
