I always keep a ton of rubber on hand and keeping them organized has been a chore. I have been using harbor freight plastic cases, and while they work they are flimsy and kinda suck and i feel like i spend more time fighting them then they do help keep things organized.

So what does everyone else use?

Idk I just have like a bunch of shit laying around

    #3 5 months ago

Running a little low. My important ones are here. Mostly silicone from Titan.

I also have a parts organizer with a bunch of black rubber rings. And another box or two in storage.

    LTG : )

I use the pack out system for all my gear. Need to redo and add some but it works.
I print sizes on labels for the lid, but also this assumes the single kind of rubber. As we use super bands on route and I have some clear silicone for random tna and client games, kind of starts getting messy lol

I don't see any rubbers there at all.

Seriously. I mean Pinball Life recently showed us their special tapered reaching stick/plug thing to reach all the special buttons on the Spike 2 models. https://www.pinballlife.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=PBL-100-0195-00 The least Titan can do is show off their models with ridges for enchanced friction on the ball or some special models with built in reservoirs to hold the extra wax that builds up after a long play session.

All I saw in their pics was a bunch of regular old pinball rings in boxes. It shouldn’t surprise me though. I guess I always knew rubbers came in boxes.

    What bin system is this?

    #26 5 months ago

I have a lot more since this pic. Spent way too much in rubbers and leds on Black Friday. Also bought several complete game kits on top of that for a handfull I want to refresh in Jan.

Call your store before going if you plan to buy in anything over 12 at a time to make sure they have them.

I wiped out the 4 closest stores to me and I'm only halfway done adding them to the wall.

Since we are playing off my thread anyway… lol

Here is what I started with and next is the mobile solution I’m working on.

This is my 'white box', I have a 'black box' and a less organized set of boxes for the various silicon colors.

Marco's rubber formula hasn't failed me. I've had problems (years ago) with rubber from other suppliers suffering premature failure, so I use Marco's rubber for most jobs.

White rubber used to turn brown under fluorescent lighting, almost as if it was getting a suntan. Because of this, I set up my rubber storage to be in light-proof boxes.

It's also handy for service calls. I grab my 'flipper repair box', my 'white rubber box', my 'coil mechanisms (WPC)' box, and I know my service call will likely have most of the parts I need.

Too many to sort by size and color, so I sorted by size

Here is my new solution I have come up with since starting this thread. Dewalt case with some printed dividers.

    Looks good!

The Hardbor Freight sorting bins are just as good for this light weight materials and about 1/3 the cost.

    They aren't portable though.

This is what cause me to start this thread and see what others are doing. I am an OP and so my rubber cases ride in my truck a lot. The see through harbor freight case I posted on the first post has been hit and miss, and easily destroyed if I accidentally drop it while walking. I’m thankful for everyone showing what they use! Hopefully it can help some others also

    #38 5 months ago

For route stuff I keep a single organizer with all the commons. Reality is flippers and slings followed by posts and small diameter are the ones I need most. I keep a few colors of those.

Outside of that I keep restock at home.

    #39 5 months ago

Hay,Dr-Willy,when will your new Arcade open up??

    #41 5 months ago

I bought a few of these a couple years ago. Tried them out for various uses, as I am the only person in the area that does pinball repairs in homes. They didn't hold up very well and I ended up buying Dewalt cases like them. But they are so expensive and take up a lot of space. I do a lot of long distance trips, like next week I am going from East Tn and making 7 stops all around NC. So I will essentially have my entire shop packed and in the Yukon with me.

    #42 5 months ago

This is what I have, which doesn't feel very rugged or sturdy at all, but I got some craftsman units similar to the pack out from Milwaukee and they're not very well built. Might just have to nut up and go packout.

    #43 5 months ago

Not super organized but enough for me.

I really need a better solution. These harbor freight units aren't great, the versastack from craftsman breaks when you look at it funny and the dewalt and milwaukee have so much wasted internal space. Hmm

    #46 4 months ago

these are from Home Depot; originally they were "HDX" branded, now "Anvil," and currently $18 for a pair. i use the same ones for organizing electronic components, and they can snap together into a stack of two or more should you desire. they've held up great for years since i operate and they go with me at least once a week on my rounds. i suppose at this point i should just toss the extra dividers since it's unlikely i'm going to change this layout.

i like these because they are lightweight, a reasonable size, and not much wasted space.

i work in event production and always have gaff tape and a Sharpie around so that's what i used to label.

and yes, i'm prepared to get flamed for using standard black rubber.

Edit: is it this: plus below:

What exactly is it. I found this:

but that looks like only the top part, does it nest/latch to the bottom parts?
